May 25, 2012 · My computer can connect to the wireless router but can not connect to the internet. I try connecting with the ethernet connection with cable modem & still it doesn't work. The other laptop works fine but my does not. 1. I have uninstalled & installed network adapter. 2. Restarted the network apater & cable modem. 3. i get "Windows could not Basically my laptop will connect to the Internet but only if I'm literally sitting next to the router.
